1 st July 2016
Excavation recommenced removing the fill in Locus 1 in the western half of the trench. Pick axes and shovels were employed to break and remove the fill. Very little material culture was found, but it included modern (plastic, tile) and ancient (pottery and tile). 10 pick-passes were completed.
Another 10 pick-passes were completed. We have now reached the western boundary wall; however, we are higher at this point and the next stratum has not been fully exposed yet. This will be completed on Monday hopefully!

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
