Daily Log

July 18, 1984

Work was done cleaning down to the "floor" in zeta/53.  The "floor" in this area is very rough and cracked.  Only the western half of the grid was finished.  The column base, which extends into grids eta/53-54, was cleaned down and defined.  It appears to be somewhat fragmented but in better shape than the two bases previously uncovered in T-25 (1984).  There are tiles and plaster above and around this base.

Another cut was made in /54 - looking for the "floor" or a column base.  Almost no pottery or tile was found in this cut, but a small amount of plaster was uncovered.  The cut came down to approximately 20 cm - no "floor" or column base was yet encountered.  A cut-out acroterion piece was found in N/54 at a depth of approximately 16 cm.

  • Cassette of tile: 1/3 (70% plaster)
  • Boxes of pottery: 5 fragments

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
