The trench was taken down 0.30-0.35m to galestra. Only fine, very worn, surface tiles were found.
To connect up both series of trenches on Civitate B, a trench 0.60 X 17.50m, on the same E-W exis, was taken down 0.35m to galestra on bedrock. The surface layer of soil in the eastern half of the trench contained carbon deposits
for a depth of 0.15m. Found: about 5 worn, surface tiles and 4 fragments of an impasto vase.
About four meters to the south of B16A, in a trench on the same E-W axis, 0.60 X 12.50m, the topsoil was removed. 3 pieces of surface tile.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
