There are occasional rocks in the eastern half of the trench. Clipped roots to clean up the trench before lunch.

P.M.

Did a pick pass in the middle of the trench. It was found that the soil was darker than the medium-dark brown soil in the rest of the trench. The area is in the centre of the trench and is c. 20cm by 30 cm. The area was lightly picked with handpicks and then scraped down to uncover other possible darker soil. There were rocks at the centre. A piece of terracotta was found near the area and in comparison to the other material found it is exceptionally not worn and in good condition. Charcoal was also found near the area along with some pottery. After scrapping the area down it was decided to stop work on the potential feature and resume work in the morning due to the shade created by a tree to the south of the trench. Worked on taking the lip down between CB 56 and CB 57. Also trimmed the lip between CB 54 (extension) and CB 57 for the remainder

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
