AM

It is decided that two meters, E125/S21-22, will be concentrated on for the day, in effort of reaching depths anticipated for the orientalizing wall before the end of the season. Pickpasses are tken repeatedly through these two meters through the morning. Having progressed beyong the initial topsoil and intoa more yellowish-gray, finer soil, locus 3 is desginated. This soil contains more tile fragments and pottery than the previous locus, with appr 40 tile/terra cotta fragments and about 1/2 latte box of pottery being removed by the mid-day  break. No finds, however, are designated in the morning.

PM

Pickpasses continue throughout the afternoon in meters E125/S21-22, and the designation of locus 3 is retained.

Several ridged pieces of pottery are found and desginated as finds (ridged coarseware rim #1, ridged bucchero shard #2, ridged impasto chard #4). An interesting piece of stamped impasto is also found and desginated as find #3. Approximately 1/2 latte box of assorted ceramics and about 40 pieces of terra cotta/tile are removed form the afternoon's work.
