Work concentrated in meters A/B-5/6. These four meters were full of rocks as well as two stumps. The stump in meters A/5-6 was removed first and cleaned, but contained no finds. There was a concentration of burned terracotta found in the meter after the stump was removed. Several rocks were also removed from meter A/5 bringing the leve to a depth of 45 cm from the southern baulk. The soil in this meter remained loose and brown.

The massive stump in meters A/B-5/6 was also removed. A considerable amount of bucchero was found on the north of the stump in meter A/6. A bucchero rim fragment with incised designe came from this area. The soil on the north and west sides remained loose and brown at a depth of 55 cm. Hoewver, on the east side at 67 cm, the soil was yellow and clay-like; almost a pre-galestra.

meters A/B-5/6. 1/4 a cassette of tile and 3/4 of a latte box of pottery was found in the stump.

A 15 cm cut was taken in meters A/B-9/10 bringing these four meters down to a depth of 90 cm in meter A/10 and 110 cm in meter A/9. The earth closest to the southern baulk resembled a pre-galestra layer, but the soil returned to a dark brown in meters B/9-10.

Excavation of North Terrace 3 is finished as of today. Stratigraphy sections will be drawn tomorrow, Thursday, July 7, and final trench photos will be taken.
