AM: worked in magazzino

PM: continued work on P/Q 34 with trowels. The stones running N/S in this area are finally defined enough to be drawn. Recovered were a handful of pottery and a few fragments of tile.

Also continued was P/Q 37 in order to define the N/S line of several terracotta pieces where it was hoped taht continuation of the wall in G-R 37 would be. Excavation recovered only a few fragments of pottery and tile and two amorphous pieces of bronze.

Finally, a few minutes with a pick and shovel brought P/Q 38-40 nearly down to the same level as the rest of the trench. The beginning levels were 80cm before the surface of the baulk. A few fragments of tile and

pottery and tile were recovered. The soil was dried out, but clayey and came up in hard, dark brown clumps that were difficult to break apart. Many bits of carbon and small pieces of plaster were included in the composition of the soil.

No special finds.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
