Work began with picking to remove the remaining humus layer.  A sherd of medieval pottery was found.

Lighter soil has been revealed throughout the trench, so the Locus 1 baulk is being trimmed and the trench is being cleaned in preparation for declaring Locus 2.  A nail was found.

Opening photos were taken and Locus 2 was declared.  Opening elevations were taken.

The locus consists of lighter yellowish soil across the entire trench.  A pick pass was begun in the western end.  An iron tack was found.
