Locus Summary

Locus 1 : The soil for locus 1 was designated by Munsell Chart as 10YR 4\\2 dark grayish brown. There were no significant pottery finds, no bone, no metals, and no special finds.

Locus 2 : The soil was determined to be 2.5Y 5\\3, light olive brown. There was very little pottery and bone found, no metals, and 5 special finds, all consisting of terracotta.

Locus 3 : Soil yellow brown, designated as 2.5Y 4\\3 olive brown. The amount of pottery starts to increase as well as bone. No metals, though an increasing amount of terracotta, especially architectural fragments. 1 special find - raking sima.

Locus 4 : Locus 4 declared because of large tile spreads along S wall and NE corner. Comparable amounts of pottery, bone and terracotta. 1 piece of bronze and 2 special finds.

Locus 5 : Locus 5 the same as locus 3, the distinction made because of the tile spreads of locus 4. Large increase in pottery and bone. 1 piece of bronze and many special finds consisting of architectural decoration.

Locus 6 : Yellow sandy soil that appeared in patches throughout the trench. A drop in the amount of pottery and bone, though 3 pieces of bronze were found as well as a feline water spout.

Locus 7: Locus 7 presented a very large increase in pottery and bone as well as the number of special finds. 5 pieces of bronze were found. The soil was of a light brown crumbly texture with lots of small plaster inclusions and bits of charcoal.

Locus 8 : Soil very densely concentrated with charcoal, and highly dense with pottery and bone. A large number of special finds, 7 pieces of bronze and 3 pieces of iron. Relative dropoff in the amount of terracotta. Munsell designation 10 YR 3\\1.
