A.M.

Excavation continued in MNO/72-77 in order to completed the second cut.  Work slowed when a series of tiles-pan, cover, and possibly ridge was found in a horizontal line, ca. 30 cm below the surface, in N.  Over one of the file concentrations a possible slingstone was found (N/72-73).  Very few pieces of pottery were found, with the exception of a piece of lid.  One strange piece of terra cotta was also recovered.

Work also continued in section LM/78-81 with hammers and mestline to isolate the position of the artifacts, as they were implanted in the soil.  A high concentration of burn material-wood, pottery and terra cotta was visible in area L/78.  But non-burnt pottery was was found.  No bucchero was discovered.  Plaster fragments, especially ones with reed mark and clay edges continued to appear.

P.M.

Work was confined to uncovering the floor of the south eat building ( see AC VII ).

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
