T-26 Summary: Work continued with hammers and mestiline in exposing the rock/tile packing at 45-60 cm.  Tile: 1/4.  Pottery: Negligible.

T-23 Summary: Meters A/11-12 were excavated to ~60 cm and the soil carefully checked.  Tile: 1/4.  Pottery: 1/2.

Work began in T-23 with pick and sieve.  No finds so changed to carefully checking soil in wheelbarrow.  Meter A/11-12 excavated to 60 cm.  Soil shows orange/black light burn soil and non-burn gray soil.

Work in T-26 was continued with hammer and mestilina.  The rock/tile layer was uncovered in meters C/77-79.  At ~60 cm, a heavy burn layer was found in meter C/79 (orange/black spotted soil, light).  The rock packing rises to ~45 cm in C/77 and dips down from C/77 to C/79.  Few stones in C/79.

The stone/tile packing in T-26 was photographed today.

Work continued in the afternoon just as it did in the morning.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
