This morning photographs were taken of the trench area. A 10cm. topsoil cut was ten taken in meters A-H/4-6. The soil was very wet and clay-like in substance. It contained many small rocks and some roots. A few pieces of heavily worn tile and a pithos fragment were discovered. A soil dump was placed to the southwest, 130 degrees, 22 meters distant from the southwest corner of the trench H/1.
This afternoon the topsoil cut made this morning was extended further to the west. In the northern end of the trench, the cut was extended to meters A-B/1. In the central and southern part of the trench the cut was extended to meters C-H/2. A large stump in meter G/3 prevented complete excavation of this area. The soil
was again very wet and clay-like in substance. Only a few badly worn pieces of tile were discovered.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
