This morning we continued to excavate the lens. The dark brown soil seems to be contained by the string of rocks. The dark brown soil will be taken to a depth of 40cm.

The remainder of the lens was brought down to 40cm. The string of rocks will be defined. If the lens still exists it will be taken out until it is no longer present. Materials recovered from the 28-40cm cut include 1/3 box of pottery and 12 bone fragments. A small fragment of burnt bone with a hole was found at this level and labeled a find.

We continued to remove the lens with another 10cm (40-50) cut. The dark brown soil is still present in W73/S35 while a red brown soil with plaster inclusions is present in W73/S34 (Locus 3). Another piece of burnt bone was recovered in this cut and labeled a find.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
