Iron slag was found in a total of four of nine loci in VT11: Locus 2 , Locus 3 , Locus 5 , and Locus 7 . Locus 2 and Locus 3 constitute loci without a secure ancient context, although the slag found therein is likely ancient and deposited as a part of the same fill event(s) as Locus 5 and Locus 7 . The nine pieces of slag form a very small data set compared to other areas excavated and the total amount of material excavated from VT11, and consequently few conclusions can be drawn.

Bronze

Bronze was found in a total of two of nine loci: Locus 5 and Locus 7\x97one piece in each. The piece from Locus 5 (VDM20165034) was a bronze ring, and that from Locus 7 was a small bronze rectangle. As is the case with the slag, the VT11 bronze data set is quite small, and few conclusions can be drawn from it.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
