Daily Log

June 6, 1978

Continued work in G-H 28-30.  A heavy rock pack of large stones lies above F.  The workmen began to clear the topsoil in I and J but encountered large rocks directly beneath the few inches of top soil that had collected on them.

Work this afternoon consisted of an additional cut int C-D/28-30.  A rock packing was encountered in this area with occasional tile fragments.  The only find of the day was an impasto fragment of a "potnia therone"

handle found near the surface of the slope.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
