Daily Log 27 July 2009
Began work with pick pass through Locus 9, mottled soil. While sorting 3 pieces of bulk bronze and a twisted bronze fibula fragment and bronze tack were recovered from the previously identified (pg 45) carbon and bronze area.
Find #1 Bronze Fibula Fragment
27.14m (absolute elevation)
Find #2 Bronze Tack
27.12m (absolute elevation)
Baulk walling the trench continued across the entire trench. The north end of the trench exposed a slight slope in the yellow soil from T-30A. Work to level and expose yellow soil continued in the north.
Work in Locus 9 continued by trowel. Soil appears slightly more gray (see pg. 63) and not productive. PIck passes across the area of Locus 9 continued to pull up the same mottled soil with some gray galestra-like inclusions, possibly attributed to the proximity of removed stump.
Closing Elevations in Locus 9:
55.90S/175.36E: 26.84m (absolute elevation)
55.85S/176.35E: 26.81m (absolute elevation)
57S/175.33E: 26.85m (absolute elevation)
57S/176.35E: 26.85m (absolute elevation)
Locus 9 soil remained mottled through afternoon. 1 bowl of terracotta and 2 boxes of pottery/bone were recovered from Locus 9. Approximately 20 pieces of terracotta and 3/4 box of pottery/bone from the baulk.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
