the entire stratigraphy and deposits of the area while excavating. As CB 57 is located on a slope south of the Medieval path, consideration will be allotted to erosional forces acting on the landscape.

The goals for the excavation of CB 57 for the 2012 season are:

1) To explore this area for evidence of habitation, especially non-\xe9lite habitation, on the western side of Poggio Civitate

2) To investigate this area of the site that has not previously been fully explored, in particular to gain a better understanding of the topography and stratigraphy of Civitate B.

3) To recover materials from a secure context in order to better understand the occupation period(s) of Civitate B.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
