The morning was spent clearingsight lines for the use of the transit. The trench was laid out along the gridsystem. T-67 is a 1 x 3 meter trench between T-45 and T-46. Next to thenorthern border of the trench appears to be a dirt dump from previousexcavations but it does not appear to extend throughout the entire exposedbaulk wall of T-45.

General cleaning was done in the areaof the trench. A thick layer of grass covering the entire trench was removedusing clippers, and the top layer of the fallen leaves were removed by hand. Openingphotos were taken and Locus 1 declared. Locus 1 is made up of top soil andhumus with small surface rocks and surface organic materials. The soil isgrainy and a baked dark brown. A pickpass was begun working from south tonorth, in from the previously established baulk walls of T-46. Many roots andsmall rocks are present along with worn pieces of twerracotta tile, which maybe erosion from an older terracotta dump. The soil was then spoiled intobuckets and sorted by hand. An additional pickpass was then completed in thenorthern meter of the trench avoiding the depression in the center in anattempt to level the trench. Pottery, tile, organics, and rocks continue to befound.
