Lithics analysis:

In the 2010 season five lithics were recovered from CA 64. Three fragments of worked chert, 20100047

20100047
, 20100017
20100017
, and 20100027
20100027
, show evidence of percussion from being intentionally struck. The presence of this typology of stone tools, potentially fragments of original blades, reinforces activity from the Villanovan period in the Civitate A area. 20100020
20100020
, a stone inlay piece, illustrates the presence of a decorative stone element on some sort of original artifact not recovered. Additionally a grinding stone, 20100024 , was found, indicating the use of another type of stone tool in the industry of the Civitate A area.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
