We began the morning with one pick-pass in the extension area. One pick-pass was made where Locus 4 is still present in the original trnech. Locus 4 was excavated down to Locus 5 with a trowel. Coordinates for the area designated now as Locus 5, previously designated as Locus 4, are apporximately (144.77 E / 58.50 S); (145.90 E / 58.56 S); (145.90 E / 59.42 S); (145.77 E / 59.42 S); and (144.86 E / 59.01 S). The opening elevations for this area (Locus 5) are:
- North point: 166.0 cm b.d.
- South point: 167.5 cm b.d.
We made a complete pick-pass from the bottom of the new locus (Locus 5, previously
Locus 4 of the original trench) to the wall of T-21 (east side of the original trench). The rest of the afternoon was spent sifting and trimming baulk walls. No further work was done in the extension area in the afternoon.
No closing elevations were taken due to a thunderstorm. Opening elevations will be taken tomorrow morning.
Locus 4: 3 pieces of pottery; 6 pieces of plaster. Locus 5: 3 cassette of bulk terracotta; 176 pieces of pottery; 13 pireces of bone; 8 pieces of plaster larger than 3 cm in width (over 50 collected in all). Baulk trim: 15 pieces of pottery; 3 pieces of bone (one of which is a tooth).

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
