T8
Work was continued from the S end of the trench towards the N. Patches of bedrock appeared, inter-spersed with pockets of terracotta material, mainly tile fragments. A few pieces of horserace frieze were found in the S. end, grid N3 and others in the same area that had been productive already in the second layer, that is the grids E-F 1-4. The trench was taken down to about 20-25 at the S end and about 20 cm at the N end where it was left at the level of the adjoining trench T1AF.
