Work began with picking to lower the trench to the level of the more brown-yellow soil. An iron tack was found.

Another coil made rim sherd was found.

The two rim sherds may have a join along the ancient break edges.
Work continued using hand picks and trowels to remove the remainder of Locus 2. Stumps and large stones were removed. A bifurcated handle was found.
