Tesoro 5E

Digging continued under the stones and in the northeast corner of the trench.  At F8, a griffin wing was found, and at F9, a griffin's lower leg and paw, broken off underneath where it would have attached to a ridgepole tile.  F3 produced a left hand from a seated-statue akroterion, and another head from the lateral sima.

Horse-race frieze was again heavy, and found in all conditions from well-fired to exceedingly crumbly.  Frieze and sima continued to be heaviest under the stones, but they were also found elsewhere in the trench.  31 boxes of tiles were dumped in five hours.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
