We work only from 6:30 to 10:30, continuing to remove the tile concentration in m 91-92 and to expose the column-base in N-O 91-92. Note especially the relatively large amount of pithos fragments (1+ cassetta) as well as tile (3) and plaster (1+). Among the (large) tile fragments we find a section of a cover-tile with full width (no.1) and one with part of a letter (no.3).

The black burn soil under the stump in N90 and over the column base yields virtually nothing, nor does the yellow layer mixed in with it on the west side of the stump and intense by the north side, where it is topped by a layer of white plaster. The brown plaster/burn soil of the tile concentration above yields more than a latte box of pottery.

To the northeast corner of the column base the black soil grows even blacker, looser and purer. Tile is found over, but not in, it.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
