July 15, 2003


This morning was taken up with 5 pick passes and sifting and clearing with trowels and buckets.  Nothing important occurred.  We got down ca. 15-25 cm. into locus 4.


Same as morning with pick passes and sifting with trowels, still in locus 4.  We stayed in locus 4 for the rest of the afternoon.

We ended the afternoon with another attempt to remove the stump.  The furthest west portion was removed, but not the dirt below.  Will be done tomorrow.

almost 1 cassetta of terracotta

19 Sherds of pottery

1 piece of bone
