Trench Layout

The boundaries of CB 47 were laid out by a baseline extended from the eastern wall of CB 45. CB 45 was initially laid out using a baseline shot with the transit off the grid point PC 1 and a second baseline extending from it at a ninety degree angle. Using triangulation a two by three meter trench was established with the northwest corner at a location of 33S/8W.

The coordinates of the four corners of CB 47 at the time of the start of the 2011 season are as follows:

NW corner: 33S/8W

NE corner: 33S/5W

SE corner: 35S/5W

SW corner: 35S/8W

A datum point with an absolute elevation of 31.20 meters was established on a tree to the southeast of the trench.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
