Bone Summary

A bag of bone 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm was recovered from the 1983 T-26 excavations.  Of this, 55 pieces exhibited cut marks.  2-3 pieces of these were burned.  Most of these cut bone fragments were small and from straight long bones.  These pieces were numbered and separated.  Of the uncut bones, all parts of the skeleton were represented and many teeth.  Much of this appeared to come from smaller animals, though large grazing animal teeth were found.  Under 25% was burned.  This bone was cleaned and bagged.

Several examples of worked bone were recovered and numbered among the finds.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
