Finds ran out altogether as the workmen reached the outside of the northern wall. They then returned to the point where the concentration started (Section D) and began to dig down below the level of the visible wall stones. More material was found, including a chair leg and miscellaneous small fragments of a seated statue (19680577), but the workmen encountered close-set stones over these finds and began to clean them.
Inside the building in M and L, frieze and tile continued down quite deep, but seemingly in pockets. Several joins made between pieces from inside and outside the wall raised the possibility that one single dump had been covered by a later building. The frieze was again mostly horse race, but pieces of at least two different banquet plaques were also found.
