1R Cleaning of tilebed. The tiles dormed a very irregular and somewhat scattered tilebed with several gaps and appeared at a lower level towards the E edge (W edge depth 0.15m and E edge depth 0.25m). A part of a head was found showing: the eyes and the nose (broken). Along the wall 0.50m W was found a gorgon's head. Several oddly-shaped pieces were found with unusual curves and shapes (part of a head ?).

1Q Soil was taken off down to the top of wall (about 30cm). Found were several boxes of tiles and at 4.10m E, 3.00m N, a large piece of sima (#2, ).
