A trench was triangulated off of a baseline of 37E shot with a transit.  Its corners are 28E/27S, 32E/27S, 32E/30S, and 28E/30S.

A datum point was measured with the transit at an elevation of 27.82 mAE.  Opening elevations were taken.


Locus 1 Opening Elevations:

NW: 27.10 mAE

NE: 27.05 mAE

SE: 26.86 mAE

SW: 26.97 mAE


A pick pass was begun in the western meter of the trench.



Picking and hand-sorting continued.  The soil is being dumped approx. 20m to the northwest of the trench.  Some tile and a few sherds of pottery are being found.  Closing elevations were taken.


Closing Elevations:

NW: 27.07 mAE

NE: 27.05 mAE

SE: 26.86 mAE

SW: 26.94 mAE

Terra Cotta: 1/3 bowl

Pottery: 4 sherds
