Daily Logs

22nd June 2012

Over the previous two days brush was cleared from the trench. This morning the trench was drawn, opening photos were taken, elevations recorded and Locus 1 was declared across the entire trench. Locus 1 is a dark brown organic rich humus layer with a number of rocks and many roots. There are two small (c. 20 cm) stumps one meter from the N.E. and S.E. corners of the trench. A number of small surface rocks as presented in Locus 1 sketch, were removed from the trench. The entire trench was picked in the morning. More rocks and roots were uncovered. Soil remained dark drown. A few (circa 8) pieces of tile were recovered throughout the trench.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
