Work continued in Trenches 18 and 19, in the north extensions.

T-18 grids J-M/28-30 was cleared down through the brownish soil stratum.  The soil contains small chipped stones, small terracotta fragments and pottery sherds.  Surface rocks extend across the northern end of this trench (as also in T-19 J-M/31-33).

  • 2 cassetti of tiles discarded
  • 1 cassette of pottery

T-19 grids J-M/34-35 was cleared down through the topsoil stratum.  The soil contains small chipped rocks, fragments of terracotta (including a few large pieces of pan tiles) and pottery sherds.  Surface rocks extend across the northern end of this trench also.

  • 2 cassette of tiles discarded
  • 1/2 cassette of pottery
