This morning excavation concentrated in the western two meters of the trench. Again we were concentrating on removing the remainder of Locus 1 . In total, 5 to 10 pick-passes were completed. Very little material was recovered modern and ancient tile, plastic, modern glass. As VT13 was opening this morning excavation also involved the removal of our western section wall. We also trimmed the eastern section wall.
Excavation continued in the western two meters using pick axes and shovels. Furthermore, the northern baulk wall
was trimmed. Five pick passes were completed. We now have nearly removed the entirety of the construction fill Locus 1 .
