Work began by continuing to lower the surface of Locus 4 approximately 10cm, in order to search for a possible floor surface associated with the potential wall identified in Locus 5 .  Hand picks and trowels were used to excavate and soil was a medium yellowish-brown, claylike soil that contained fairly high quantities of pottery and ceramics but little bone.  Soil was hand sorted directly into buckets in the trench.

Work ended on site after 45 minutes due to rain.  The remainder of the day was spent working in the magazzino.

Locus 4 :

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
