While fairly extensive excavations have been completed to the west and north of the Orientalzing workshop, little to none have been completed to the east of the building. This year two test trenches will be laid out to the east of the building in order to explore the area. Our goals for this season are as follows

1- To explore the region to the east of the workshop for any signs of use

2- To see if the retaining wall located to the south of the workshop continues around the hill

3- To look for domestic or other architecture associated with any phase of the site

In order to pursue these goals, two test trenches will be established in the area to the east of the workshop. They will be 2 x 2 metersĀ andĀ located along the same south axis (55s) spaced three to four meters apart. For information pertaining to T-41B .

Trench Layout

For information on the establishment of the T-41 trenches see surveyors log July 5, 2004. A datum point was established at a height of 27.14m (ae) on a tree to the east of the trench. The dirt dump is located to the south east and the pottery dump to the north. Terracotta will be measured in casetta (or bowls) with a volume of 2959.21cubic cm, pottery and bone by the number of pieces collected.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
