A.M./P.M.     30 June 2016

Excavation continued in locus 2 .  After a pick-pass was carried out across the western 2/3 of the trench, it was decided to extend the trench southwards. Locus 2 was closed.  Approximately a dozen small well-worn fragments of terracotta was recovered.  Five sherds of pottery were found.  Closing photos and elevations were taken.  One special find was made.

Closing co-ordinate elevations for locus 2 :

NW(80-E/43-S): 26.20 m. above absolute elevation (43 cm. below datum point)

NE(84-E/43-S): 26.27 m. above absolute elevation (36 cm. below datum point)

SE(84-E/46-S): 26.06 m. above absolute elevation (57 cm. below datum point)

SW(80-E/46-S): 25.93 m. above absolute elevation (70 cm. below datum point)

The extension of the trench south was declared locus 3 .

Extension south of T-83

Locus 3 is dark brown in color and is humus in nature.  The soil type of this locus is equivalent to that of locus 1 .  Photos and elevations were taken.

Opening co-ordinate elevations of locus 3 :

NW(80-E/46-S): 26.07 m. above absolute elevation (56 cm. below datum point)

NE(84-E/46-S): 26.17 m. above absolute elevation (46 cm. below datum point)

SE(84-E/47-S): 26.15 m. above absolute elevation (48 cm. below datum point)

SW(80-E/47-S): 26.07 m. above absolute elevation (56 cm. below datum point)

A pick-pass was carried out across the entire locus, which lowered the area
