Trench Layout

CB 57 was laid out using triangulation. A straight line was made with a tape between two nails previously placed by the site architect, Andrew Carroll, (50E/53S and 54E/53S). Using this line two more points were obtained through triangulation at 50E/56S and 54E/56S. These points were used to create straight lines and extend the southern baulk wall by one meter.

The coordinates of the trench CB 57 are:

N.W. 50E/53S

N.E. 54E/53S

S.E. 54E/57S

S.W. 50E/57S

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
