The soil and wood chips were cleaned up from the removal of the stumps. While scraping up the soil a piece of slag poped out of locus 2 (special find #1).

A pick pass was done through the whole trench. The soil is still a medium brown and claylike, there has been no carbon for the last few passes. A piece of incised rim was uncovered (special find #10). Another piece of incised rim was uncovered with 2 associated pieces (special find #11). A piece of slag and another piece of incised rim was uncovered (special find 12 and 13). The incised rim maybe from the same vessel as S.F. #11.

Another pick pass was completed across the whole trench, except the northwestern corner. This corner is being left alone due to many rocks in the corner. This pick pass has uprooted a lot of rotten roots and patches of a yellowish clay. While cleaning up an incised rim (4 pieces) was found (special find #14). Another piece of slag was found (special find #15). A decorated piece of pottery was recovered (special find #16). A piece of pottery decorated with dots was found (special find #17).
