1AF

After the trench been cleared down to the top of wall a test cut was made across from the wall to the southern edge to determine whether in fact the tile bed did continue at a lower level.  The cut measured 4.00 m x .50 m, was located .65 m east of the western edge, and went down to bedrock at 90 cm.  Though a few scattered pieces of tile, pottery, and bone were found, there was definitely no tile layer.

1AH

A new trench 1AH was laid out 3.00 m x 18.25 m east of 1AF which together with 1AG completed the three-metter strip along the southern edge of the wall. Finds were similar to those in 1AF - only a few scattered tiles. ( )

Complex 5

5A

To designate the area south of the rectangular structure in complex 1 a new complex system was adopted. Accordingly the new trench laid out 3 x 8 m and at right angles to 1AD moving south was numbered 5A. ( )

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
