The area excavated G-L/86-92 was photographed for final trench photos. Most of the tiles excavated from this area were photographed while laid out – see A. Collins Book VIII p. 57 . Then the tiles were collected and dumped. Three and one-half cassette of covertile were dumped and seven and one-half cassette of pan tile. Tiles further discovered to bear letters, distinguishing marks or dimentions were brought down.

A section was checked and will be taken Thursday morning of the north balk wall facing south.

NOTE: section was taken Thursday. Wednesday through Saturai T-26 1987 [i.e. all exposed area] was backfilled. Initially the refilling was to proceed as follows: a layer of plastic burlap bags or perforated plastic sheets covered the unfired covertiles, all exposed floor aera and column bases (including the two areas felt to be a possible fourth

southernmost row) and as much other excavated area as possible. About 4"-6" of fill covered this in the western meters and over the covertiles. Then, a second layer of plastic and about 12"-18" of fill covered all excavated area.
