Stratigraphic Summary

The stratigraphic summary of CB 32, W67-76/S32-41 can be divided into four distinct levels.

Context 1, Humus layer  0~5cm

This is a very dark brown soil with heavy organic material. No material or finds were collected from this context.

Context 2, Dark Brown soil  ~5~10cm

This soil is still dark brown but does not have the organic material that the previous layer did. No material or finds were collected from this context.

Context 3, Medium Brown soil  ~10~20cm

This soil is medium brown in color. This is the first soil layer where there was any material recovered. No finds are associated with this layer.

Context 4 Lt. Brown  ~20~40cm

This soil is light brown in color. Material was recovered from this layer but not in the quantity of the last layer. One find was associated with this layer.

A locus system was introduced mid excavation to deal with the lens that was present in W71-72/S34-35.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
