Excavation began in Locus 3 this morning. Locus 3 is a heavily compacted grey-brown soil filled with many stones. Before lunch we concentrated in the western half of the locus. Nearly two bowls of tile were recovered. Very little modern tile was present, however, the remaining was partly worn and pitted. One carton of pottery was recovered. Within the soil some fragments of charcoal were visible.
