A pick pass was done in the eastern meter of the trench. Roots, small stones, and terracotta were uncovered. More of the large rock found yesterday at 88.5S was exposed. Soil was sorted into buckets and dumped. While sorting a piece of worked chert was found (special find #1), also a piece of fenestrated terracotta was found (special find #2).

A pick pass was done between 36W and 37W. Soil was sorted into buckets. Terracotta and some pottery was found. A 2 nd piece of worked chert was found (special find #3).

A 3 rd pick pass was done between 37W and 38W, more terracotta and rocks were uncovered. Soil was sorted into buckets. Another pick pass was done between 38W and 39W. One of the stumps was picked out. Soil was sorted into buckets and dumped. A third piece of worked chert was found (special find #4). Roots and stumps in the northern part of the trench were defined.

Started the afternoon by defining and removing stumps from the trench. Almost no terracotta came from the stumps, but those pieces that did were found in the clay soil. The last western meter of the trench was picked. The olive clay-like soil is still present throughout the trench. The soil was sorted and dumped. While cleaning a piece of medieval pottery was found (special find #6). The western baulk was trimmed.
