Work resumed in CA 69. The northern and southern parts of the trench were picked twice. Very few pieces of terracotta recovered, some small rocks. Soil contained less inclusions of organic material than previously. Further pick passes revealed less material in the soil, which also appeared lighter in colour. Stumps in northern part of the trench were removed along with rocks. Two pieces of pottery found.
Due to soil change it was decided to prepare the trench for the declaration of a new locus. Roots trimmed and walls baulked. Locus 2 declared across the trench. Photos taken and munsel soil reading taken, along with elevations.
