July 6, 1972

A test extention was excavated in Grid 5E and 6E to determine the extent of the western wall foundations.  When this extension was cleared down to bedrock, profiles were drawn and the trench was extended to the southwest corner of the room in Grids 5F-J, 6F-J.

Since only the stony layer of this extension was removed, no finds were made.  Only a few occasional pieces of coarse pottery and tile were found.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
