Tile: 1; Pottery: 1/2  (Day)

Work continued northward through meters G-I/66-69 first taking a topsoil cut of 10-20 cm followed by a second cut to bring the trench level to about 30-35 cm over the floor level in J-K/66-69.  Topsoil was brown and rooty with small stones.  More pieces of terracotta and pottery were found at this level than before including small pieces of fineware.  All of this material did, however, continue to be quite worn in general appearance though, perhaps, somewhat less so than that found in the more southern meters.

Two slingstones were found in the second cut (~10-15 cm -- ~70 cm).  These were brought to the magazzino to be noted and kept, though not catalogued.

P.M.

Work continued clearing meters G/66-69 to the level of that floor.  Little tile or pottery was found.  Several odd pieces of terracotta were brought to the magazzino.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
