Techniques and Measurements

Depths:  All depths will be recorded in absolute terms as "x" cms. below surface.  One or more fixed points will be established during the course of excavation from which to establish these depths.  All depths will be established with a line level and rule.

Quantities:  Established procedure is to quantify amounts of pottery by milk carton (latte, latti) and amounts of tile by cassette, cassetti.  Measurements for each are approximate.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
