July 5, 1972
In the morning, three men continued work in Trench 19, clearing grids G-I/51-52 to approximately 65 cm below topsoil. The depth has been decreased since yesterday (80 cm) because a brownish-red layer was encountered which is temporarily being left.
They cleared up to the stone foundation and then proceeded to clean above the rocks. Next, they cleared T-19 G-I/47-49 above the rocky layer, approximately 70 cm below topsoil. Then they proceeded to T-19 E-F/47-48 clearing above the rocks. These areas have produced the following:
- 3 cassetti of tiles discarded
- 1 cassette of pottery
- 1/3 cassette of bones
- Find #1
- T-19 H/47
- 60 cm below topsoil
- Bronze fibula
