Multiple pickpasses were done in the western extent of the trench in order to remove the remaining upper levels of the tennis court fill. 4 pickpasses were done on the remaining fill. Baulk walls were also established on the north wall using a large pick due to the difficulty of picking the fill layer. Handpicks were also used along with trowels. Dirt continues to be cleaned by shoveling into wheelbarrows and buckets. A small amount of terracotta from mixed chronology along with a few pieces of pottery which have been found in the heavy brown and blue clay layers. Once the highest level of fill was removed it was decided to return to the eastern extent and pull back once again through the blue clay using the levels in VT 11 for reference. Two pickpasses were done in the eastern extent in order to remove the blue clay. A strong brown compacted clay has been found in the North east corner of the trench and has appeared in pockets throughout the eastern half of the trench. The area was picked again in order to lower the level through the blue clay.
