Daily Log 23 July 2009

Baulk walling continued on the south wall and east erosion layer/slope. Two sections were taken at the Locus 5 backfill ramp, in order to securely differentiate between backfill and contextual material. The line appears to extend in an approximate perpendicular to 57S/175E trench point. As a result, the backfill will be removed separately, maintaining the Locus 5 designation, and the 175E line baulked, then excavated. Approximately 1 bowl of terracotta and 1 box of pottery/bone were recovered from the baulk trim.

Began work on Locus 5. Baulk walling along the western meter 57S-55S/178E exposed a large handle fragment with finished edge. With the eastern erosion slope, a bronze pendant was recovered. During excavation of Locus 5, 1 meter of architects tape was pulled from approximately 27m absolute elevation.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
